Privacy Policy

NextBus ("we", "the app") respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how to remove it.

What we collect

NextBus works without an account. The only data that leaves your device in that mode is the bounding-box coordinates of the map you are looking at, which we send to our server to return nearby bus stops.

If you turn on Cloud Sync (a premium feature), the following is stored on our server so you can pick up where you left off on another device:

• Apple user identifier (sub): a stable, app-specific ID Apple gives us. It is not your Apple ID and cannot be reused to identify you in any other app.
• Email address (only if you do not choose Apple's "Hide My Email" option, otherwise the private relay address).
• Name (only if you provided it on first sign-in).
• Your saved locations and bus stops: name, coordinates, walking and biking times, and any custom names you set.
• Your in-app preferences: travel mode, time window, and a few display toggles.

We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP addresses, analytics events, crash reports, or any kind of usage telemetry.

How long we keep it

Server data is retained as long as your account exists. Tap Delete Account inside the app (Premium › Cloud Sync › Delete Account) to remove everything immediately. The server processes the request right away; no manual confirmation is needed.

Who has access

Only the developer of NextBus (Ivan Tkachev). We do not share, sell, or rent your data. Server infrastructure runs on shared hosting at Namecheap; data resides in their EU datacenters.

Your rights under GDPR

• Access — email us and we will send you a copy of everything we hold about you within 30 days.
• Deletion — use the in-app Delete Account button, or email us.
• Correction — change values in the app; they sync to the server.
• Complaint — you may complain to your local data-protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Children

NextBus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
